In life, there are times when you feel like a failure and when you’re not happy being who you are. And at times like these, you look for someone to blame and often think that people around just want to hurt you. As a result, you start hating yourself and the whole world.

But there’s really no reason to hate yourself and much less the whole world. Feeling lonely and unhappy may be a reflection of how you feel on the inside. Thus, you have to find out how to love yourself and how to love the world around you for better relationships and a better life.

Understanding how to love yourself and people around can help you cope with failure and rebuild your confidence. If you start learning to love yourself as there are so many reasons to love yourself and taking a more positive line you’ll enjoy and appreciate your life.  

Here are 5 ways to start loving yourself and the world around you that can change your life forever.

Stop Comparing, Start Complimenting Yourself

If you want to start loving yourself, first of all, you have to stop comparing yourself to others. Of course, it may be difficult to do as we live in the era of comparing – we feel a non-stop, constant competition with each other. Yes, we live in such a society where some people strive on making other people feeling bad all the time. But it doesn’t mean that you should be among them.

Comparing yourself just sets you up for a toxic environment that is not helpful whatsoever. Leave this futile exercise. Compliment and pamper yourself. Love yourself who you’re without comparing and soon you`ll see that your attitude to the world around will also change for the better.

Respect Yourself

If you want the world love and respect you, you need to love yourself and respect yourself too. Stop thinking that you’re no good. Stop focusing on only your negative aspects. In turn, start focusing on the aspects you’re good at. We’re all just humans and, of course, we all have both strong and weak sides. We all do, not just you. When you concentrate on your negative side you most often forget about the wonderful side that can be shared with others. You have to start cultivating self-love from cultivating self-respect.

Eliminate Negativity in Life

When you start learning to love yourself, one of the main things you have to do is to get rid of the people that don’t love you. Keep in mind that love is an action, not just a feeling. People commonly prove their love through their deeds.

And if somebody claims that loves you, but doesn’t make time for you, doesn’t make you feel special or makes you feel like you’re unimportant – such person actually doesn’t love you at all, such person is a parasite who eats away at your happiness and self-assurance. Erase such person from your life immediately.

Exercise and Be Fit

If you want to love yourself, you also should learn to love your reflection in the mirror. Sometimes it`s not so easy to do! Sitting on the couch in front of the TV and wondering how to lose weight and be in a good shape don’t help you love and respect yourself. Being active regardless of all is what you need and what help you gain a better understanding yourself. But being active doesn’t mean only intense workouts at the gym.

It can be anything that makes you move, for example, doing 20 minutes stretching when you wake up in the morning or jogging in place when you watch your favorite TV program. You need these little workouts as your body releases endorphins when you’re active, thus, you feel more energized, optimistic and you start looking at the world through different eyes.

Connect More, Get Out and Meet People

You want to change your life. You want to learn how to love yourself. So this is up to you. Always remember that. Don`t withdraw into your shell. Try to connect more to everything, to yourself and other people. Join clubs or communities that interest you and meet people who share your passions and dreams.

When you begin to connect with people around you more soon you’ll realize that you have people who support you in everything that you do and life will seem at least a bit easier. As by interacting with happy and positive people, you’ll feel better about yourself. And when you feel that others love you and your company, you`ll love and respect yourself more.

Loving yourself is hard because only you know all your mistakes, flaws and thoughts, but be patient with yourself. Enjoy the life you have been given and embrace each day of your life with open arms and soul as the best version of you.
